Thrudball 2014 – Charity Blood Bowl Tournament

Next month (August) Thrudball 2014, the annual charity Blood Bowl tournament, takes place in Bognor Regis. With backing of Thrud the Barbarian creator Carl Critchlow, who supplies new artwork every year. This year is the 9th one and it’s one of the longest running Blood Bowl tournaments that take place in the UK. Proceeds this year are going to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Fair Play for Children. The total from the previous 8 events have raised £19397.79 so looking to pass the £20k barrier this time.

As well as the Blood Bowl tournament itself, there is usually merchandise to purchase, a charity auction with various gaming items up for grabs. Then varying every year there are extra fund raising activities, this year sees the return of  the sponsored bush tucker trial, a Zorbing Challenge and the annual most Thrudlike competition. Previous years have seen such things as sumo suit wrestling, pugil stick combat and shooting Frank (the organiser) with BB guns and pelting him with rotting fruit.

Full details of the tournament and information on what’s available please visit the Thrudball Website.
